The Behavior Specialist III is responsible for writing clear, accurate, and timely progress notes, participating in the development of individualized family plans, and attending weekly staff meetings, consultation, and case management meetings. This role is accountable for individual time management, developing and maintaining positive relationships with agency and community programs, and utilizing resources for behavior interventions and strategies. The Behavior Specialist III forms positive, constructive relationships with children and their families, identifies their strengths and resources, observes and evaluates behavior to complete a Functional Behavioral Analysis, and implements change programming based on this analysis. They record behavioral data, make recommendations to modify goals, and provide recommendations for all phases of treatment, including termination of services. The position requires maintaining accurate and timely records, following all agency policies and procedures, and adhering to health and safety regulations. The Behavior Specialist III seeks clinical information and advice as needed, accepts constructive feedback, mentors new TBS Behavioral Specialists, and maintains the ability to work flexible hours to meet family needs. Agency-specific duties include performing all duties in a manner consistent with the agency's principles and values, adhering to professional codes of ethics, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. They model and communicate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values, work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff, and utilize and maintain a calendar for effective time management. Ongoing training is required to expand professional skills, and other duties as assigned.
