About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is a nonprofit organization providing community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention. The Behavior Management Specialist provides direct support to adolescents and families, emphasizing behavior management, in their homes, schools, and/or community. The role facilitates groups that help adolescents work toward independent living and participate in healthy community activities. It involves collaborating with teams serving families through the Child and Family Team process, consistent with the Arizona Vision/12 principles, and meeting deadlines, medical-record compliance, and performance requirements. Some evening hours are required, and the schedule must be flexible. Full-time employees are offered the benefits listed in the posting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
At least one year of experience in an applicable or relevant setting for this behavioral health role.
Knowledge of behavior-management techniques.
Ability to facilitate meetings and groups with community members, families, and teens.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines and complete documentation on time.
Ability to work with multiple systems and with children and families in crisis.
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and empathetically to all persons.
Fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one.
At least 21 years of age at time of employment.
Valid Arizona driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years; a three-year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive driving violations/tickets is required at hire.
Regular access to reliable transportation.
When driving on agency time or business, a valid Arizona driver's license, appropriate liability insurance, and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT-SPC’s liability insurance carrier are required.
Ability to attend meetings, training, and agency activities outside regularly scheduled work hours upon request.

Nice To Haves

BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS.
Experience working with at-risk adolescents.
Experience working with children in DCS care and knowledge of the RBHA children system.
Experience assisting teens with independent-living skills and transitioning to adulthood.
Teen substance-abuse experience.
Bilingual Spanish; differential per hour available.

Responsibilities

Provide direct behavior-management support to adolescents and families in their homes, schools, and/or community.
Facilitate groups that help adolescents develop independent-living skills and participate in healthy activities in the community.
Work collaboratively with teams serving families through the Child and Family Team process consistent with the Arizona Vision/12 principles.
Meet deadlines and comply with medical-record and performance requirements.
Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical practice and agency policies and procedures.
Maintain professional relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.
Attend meetings, training, and agency events outside regularly scheduled work hours when requested.
Maintain compliance with required training.
Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor or member of management.
