About The Position

Intermountain Centers is seeking career-minded individuals for opportunities within the largest adult and child service continuum in Arizona. This role implements Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programs with clients under the clinical oversight of a BCBA. The specialist provides support in the use of behavior intervention strategies and follows treatment plans generated through consultations and functional assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to behavioral health required.
  • One (1) year full-time direct applied experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors or applied behavior analysis experience.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements.
  • Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).

Nice To Haves

  • BCaBA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct delivery of behavioral intervention services to clients, their families or caregivers by implementing goals and objectives to ensure safety and engagement in appropriate activities within their daily environments.
  • Follows through on directives given by supervisor pertaining to Behavior Intervention Specialist responsibilities, performance, and program implementation.
  • Schedules and keeps scheduled appointments with parents or caregivers.
  • Provides training for clients’ parents or caregivers on how to implement behavior intervention strategies based on ABC teaching plans and Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) developed by a Behavior Assessment Specialist (BAS) or a Clinical Supervisor.
  • Seeks assistance in problem solving challenging situations when working in the field alone.
  • Collects data, completes graphs, documents observations and incidents.
  • Communicates with the BCBA, clients, parents or caregivers in regards to observations, progress, concerns, questions, preferences, etc. Completes progress notes, using the appropriate codes, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Discusses treatment progress, supports family in implementing behavior strategies that support the treatment plan.
  • Attends and participates in team meetings as scheduled.
  • Coordinates with other program staff to ensure program consistency.
  • Completes daily mileage logs and submits to supervisor for approval monthly.
  • Maintains an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance.
  • Meets engagement expectations set forth by the site supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as it relates to the general nature of the position
