About The Position

The Behavior Health Technician will monitor patients in detox and residential care, ensuring their current needs are met, they adhere to policies and procedures, and addressing recovery-related issues. The role involves maintaining a healthy and recovery-focused patient milieu, facilitating recovery-oriented support groups, and assisting with meal preparations as needed. The technician will support patients in achieving mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery by providing validation, support, and assistance. This includes witnessing patients self-administer non-narcotic medications and ensuring the facility is neat and free of safety hazards according to FRC policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include recording group and patient updates in the electronic medical record (EMR), reporting vital signs and assessment flow sheets when necessary, attending staff meetings and required trainings, and interacting professionally with patients, visitors, and family members. Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 is paramount.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Experience in a behavioral health or related setting
Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Basic computer skills for EMR documentation

Nice To Haves

Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Experience facilitating support groups
First Aid and CPR certification

Responsibilities

Interact appropriately and professionally with all patients, visitors, and family members.
