About The Position

Harbor is seeking a Behavior Health Tech to join the Toledo team! This position is responsible for providing direct care to resident daily activities, overseeing household operations, and maintaining clinical records regarding each resident’s behavior. Position is part-time 24 hours per week, 3rd shift 11p - 7a and has rotating weekends. Due to the sensitive nature of the position and the need to protect the privacy and safety of female residents, this position is open to female applicants only. This is a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) under Title VII.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age
  • must have a valid driver’s license
  • acceptable driving record
  • show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier for first and second shift employees.
  • Third shift employees will not be required to drive.
  • Must remain up to date on annual Defensive Driving for 15-Passenger Vans training requirement.
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Bachelor's degree in human service field preferred.
  • Experience working with and/or training in delivery of behavioral health services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with monitoring and maintaining client’s daily household assignments, schedules, and activities
  • Ensures and monitors client appointments with outside providers and social activities etc. as determined by job assignment and in accordance with driving policies.
  • Monitor and document clients’ activities through hourly check logs, provides specific information and observations of the resident’s needs, inappropriate behaviors, to the clinical team when necessary. Know whereabouts of clients while on duty, enforcing rules and program expectations.
  • Prepares and sends shift report at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains accurate and complete appropriate clinical records nightly and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct room and building searches as scheduled to ensure safety.
  • Conduct randomized urinalysis and input data into assigned lab software for further testing.
  • Knowledge of the individualized care plan for residents and provision of support to the resident according to the care plan. Contribute to the care planning process by providing the clinical team with specific information and observations of the residents’ needs and preferences.
  • Responsible for handling meals and serving clients to ensure proper portions are given.
  • Conduct smoke breaks in accordance to the smoking policy.
  • Conduct intake assessment with potential clients seeking programming.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  • Maintains courtesy and professionalism with staff and clients.
  • Understands and maintains professional boundaries in client interactions.
  • Responsible for the completion of all scheduled tasks, care of residents and the facility (including maintenance and cleaning).
  • Must be available for back-up and emergency shift coverage as needed. Able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Participates in training and development programs to enhance knowledge, skills, and personal service networks.
  • Completes initial and annual Relias Trainings.
  • Utilizes IT system and other system software programs appropriately.
  • Reaches conclusions promptly and takes definite course of action.
  • Plans and organizes work for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Utilizes supervision appropriately.
  • Utilizes time off appropriately and consistent with Harbor policies.
  • Delegates appropriately and effectively develop subordinates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
