About The Position

At River Rock Academy, the Behavior Coach guides and mentors students facing behavioral and academic challenges. The role promotes positive decision-making, self-regulation, and social growth while providing structure and behavioral support, maintaining safety, and collaborating across the school community.

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional challenges.
• Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and crisis management techniques.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent in high-stress situations.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, behavioral science, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students to develop problem-solving, self-control, and decision-making skills.
• Monitor behavior, enforce expectations, and maintain student accountability.
• Respond to crisis situations using approved safety and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
• Document behavioral incidents and progress accurately and promptly.
