This part-time position involves direct support to students with special needs within the Montebello Unified School District. The role requires participation in school-district-planned activities, assisting with the preparation of instructional materials, and supporting in-class activities under the guidance of school staff. The Behavior Aide will help maintain a positive learning environment through effective teaching and behavior management techniques, assist with student assessments, and provide general observations of students. The role involves working with students individually, in small groups, or as part of whole groups and learning centers, and may include assisting with classroom technology, adaptive devices, and equipment. Additional duties include assisting with social skills, personal care such as toileting and hygiene, playground supervision, and reinforcing lessons. The position also involves assisting school staff in crisis intervention and discipline, and participating in program planning meetings as requested. The aide will perform other job-related duties as required.
