Assist students with severe special education needs by helping individuals or small groups of students with curriculum, implementing programming, generalizing learned skills, and implementing behavior strategies. This role involves providing technical physical care for children with special needs, including toileting, grooming, feeding, and administering medication. The Support Leader will implement child accommodations, supports, modifications, therapeutic procedures, behavior strategies, and programming outlined in the child’s 504 plan, and maintain records of progress and behavior. Safety protocols and positive behavior reinforcement are key aspects of this position, as is fostering social interactions and communication between children with special needs and their general education peers. The role also includes assisting with program materials, attendance, documentation, and participating in professional development.
