Assist students with severe special education needs by helping individuals or small groups of students with curriculum, implementing programming, generalizing learned skills, and implementing behavior strategies. This role involves following and enforcing Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements, adapting programming to individual child needs, and delivering programming to individuals and small groups to ensure generalization of learned skills. The position also requires providing technical physical care for children with special needs, including toileting, grooming, feeding, and administering medication. Implementing child accommodations, supports, modifications, therapeutic procedures, behavior strategies, and programming outlined in the child’s 504 plan is crucial, along with maintaining records of progress and behavior. Upholding program safety protocols, monitoring child behavior, preventing self-harm, and assisting in the development of social interactions are also key responsibilities. The role supports the program director and staff in preparing materials and documentation, and requires excellent communication with parents, students, and staff, while maintaining confidentiality. Participation in professional development is mandatory.
