About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Childcare Program Director for our Before and After School Pre-K Programs at our Elsinboro Township School location for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children, possess energy, kindness, and patience, and enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The position requires strong teamwork, effective communication with families, and reliability, organization, and commitment to exceptional care. The program provides childcare for school-age children (ages 3–12) enrolled in the program on the days and during the hours employees work, covering the cost of care. This role is well-suited for parents seeking a schedule aligned with the school day, education majors or future teachers needing hands-on experience, and retirees who enjoy mentoring children. Success in this role involves ensuring program quality with engaged, safe, and happy children, maintaining full staffing with prepared and supported teachers, ensuring compliance with ratios and regulations, and managing inventory of supplies. The position operates in partnership with school districts and is committed to providing safe, enriching, high-quality programming.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
  • 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
  • Focus on results, not excuses.

  • Empathy, professionalism, G-rated work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus.
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure kids are engaged, safe, and having fun every day.
  • Ensure the program reflects Healthy Kids Program’s model and families consistently choose to re-enroll.
  • Ensure the site is fully staffed every day with prepared, supported teachers.
  • Ensure the site operates in ratio at all times.
  • Ensure records are accurate and current.
  • Ensure the program is ready for inspection on any given day.
  • Ensure the site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need.
  • Manage restocking of supplies before it becomes a problem.
