About The Position

WEIS is looking for a Beer/Wine Sales Associate who is passionate about teamwork and the growth of its associates and communities. This role involves direct customer interaction, sales, and maintaining the department's presentation and sanitation standards. Requirements

  • Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • No prior experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to work within the Beer and Wine Cafe.

Responsibilities

  • Smile and greet customers.
  • Discuss customer needs, make suggestions, handle special requests, and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Operate scanning equipment and cash register, performing all related check-out procedures including bagging merchandise and placing it in the customer's cart.
  • Maintain accuracy during transactions, ensuring correct charges and proper fund collection.
  • Adhere to proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures.
  • Follow all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of alcohol and other products.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, potentially operating power or hand jacks if trained.
  • Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure customer availability.
  • Store excess merchandise according to back-stock organization guidelines.
  • Set up displays and ensure merchandise is fresh, saleable, and correctly priced with signage.
  • Handle expired or damaged product according to company procedures.
  • Follow company guidelines for merchandising and utilize incremental displays to drive sales.
  • Maintain general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines for work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases to meet health and OSHA requirements.
  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Review orders of product and supplies.
  • Minimize losses by inspecting product upon delivery and maintaining proper handling/rotation.
  • Report any shortages or overages to management.
  • Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Continuously improve job performance.
  • Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
  • May assist in other departments as needed.
