Job Summary Ensures goods are ordered, received, priced, and stocked according to established procedures and schedules. To achieve and maintain departmental goals for sales, margin, and customer service. Partners with suppliers to develop and execute meaningful programs and manage brand/item performance. Manage seasonal merchandising and displays. Maintain organized and clean departments. About Concord Food Cooperative Concord Food Co-op is a natural foods grocery store, bakery, and café with locations in Concord, NH and New London, NH. A pillar of Main St., the Co-op strives to support and enhance the New Hampshire community by only stocking ethically-sourced natural foods and through positive cooperative action in-store and in the community.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, stepladders, and pallet jacks
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • High school diploma and a minimum of one year buying experience
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state & local standards - including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA & other federal, state and local standards
  • Compliance with all personnel policies

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in natural foods industry preferred
  • Deli, cheese, or wine experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing goods within established deadlines for quantity and delivery
  • Shelves/cases should be stocked at expected rate with a limited number of out of stocks
  • Review invoices for cost changes
  • Review movement reports consistently to monitor sales, stock levels and to act accordingly
  • Ensure pricing is accurate and be alert to incorrect pricing at all times
  • Follow credit guidelines for damaged or items received in error
  • Be aware of ordering levels and that back stock is kept at acceptable levels
  • Assisting in other areas of the Department (stocking, cleaning, etc.)
  • To ensure that storage areas are maintained and clean
  • Provide prompt, friendly and courteous customer service.
  • Offer samples, both active and passive
  • Ensure that beer and cheese cases and wine shelves are clean, stocked, rotated, and visually appealing during shift
  • Follow established sanitation procedures per health department code
  • Ability to operate scale and utilize PLU’s
  • Wash dishes as needed
  • Chopping, slicing, and cutting of food items with accuracy and precision
  • Proper labeling, dating, and storage of food items
  • Assist in other duties/special projects as assigned
  • Assist other departments as required
