About The Position

The Bed Placement Specialist is responsible for real-time patient placement and bed assignment across the hospital to ensure timely admissions, efficient throughput, and optimal use of inpatient capacity. This role coordinates patient flow from the Emergency Department, Operating Room, procedural areas, direct admissions, and transfers while working closely with nursing units, physicians, and ancillary departments. The Bed Placement Specialist is a key operational role in maintaining hospital capacity, reducing patient boarding time, and supporting safe, efficient care transitions in a 24/7 environment. This is a part-time position working 48 hours biweekly, with 12-hour shifts during the day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Associate’s degree preferred
2 years in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

Real-time patient placement and bed assignment across the hospital.
Ensure timely admissions, efficient throughput, and optimal use of inpatient capacity.
Coordinate patient flow from the Emergency Department, Operating Room, procedural areas, direct admissions, and transfers.
