Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years work experience Required
  • Excellent computer, telephone and customer services skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Proficiency utilizing Epic Production.
  • Proficiency in the use of word and excel needed for data collection, monitoring, analyzing and presentation.
  • Computer, telephone, multitasking, customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in healthcare or hospitality Preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Bed Control Specialists and Environmental Services leadership to allocate the correct EVS personnel to the areas in most need, to ensure timely room turnover and patient bed availability.
  • Work in collaboration with the Command Center team to assist in the placement of the right patient in the right bed at the right time.
  • Assist in oversight and management of discharged rooms by reducing time lags in the bed turnover process to ensure patient is placed in assigned bed within responsible time limits.
  • Work in collaboration with all Command Center personnel to allocate correct EVS personnel to areas in most need to ensure timely room turnover and appropriate patient bed placement.
  • Collectively work with Command Center personnel in evaluating admissions, transfers and bed placement request for appropriate placement of patients.
  • Ensure timely bed availability for Stat, patient assigned and critical care patient rooms.
  • Identifies and presents recommendations to improve problem resolution, decision-making and quality.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position.
  • Demonstrates de-escalating techniques in daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationship with staff and customers.
  • Adheres to the requirements of HIPPA policy and procedures.
  • Provides strong support and effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within department, with other departments and with the hospitals primary function.
  • Meets departmental and facility goals.
  • Oversee and continuously monitor quality and quantity of the daily assignments and activity of team, and redirecting as required.
  • Supports department PI projects and participates in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI projects and activities.
  • Practices and ensures the consistent use of AIDET scripting.
  • Use appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively perform Service Recovery.
  • Ensures proper use and care of equipment.
  • Position requires utilization of telephone and computer simultaneously.
  • Creativity utilizing resources with the ability to think outside the box to meet the needs of Patients needing ICU beds, patient assigned beds and STAT beds.
  • Know when to ask for assistance from Supervisor, Manager and Director.
  • Use of customer service skills is required for the position.
  • Conducts in- patient interviews and room inspections to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
