About The Position

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying individual needs, performing cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The role supports store leadership by contributing to sales and in-store events, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. It calls for enthusiasm for the beauty industry, excellent guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The Beauty Advisor engages guests, answers product and service questions, shares promotions, recommends complementary products and services, and handles sales, refunds, exchanges, and online orders. The role may include makeup applications, skincare analysis, product demonstrations, appointment booking, and support for services and events. Advisors also maintain merchandise presentation and testers, help with inventory and shipment processing, follow loss-prevention practices, and uphold store standards and policies.

This is a seasonal position with a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work involves continuous mobility and coordination throughout the store, frequent standing and bending, and lifting, carrying, or moving items up to 25 pounds. The listed pay range is $15.00–$20.00 per hour; exact pay depends on factors including qualifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off and health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
• Passion for guest service and competency in selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described, including mobility, standing, bending, reaching, and moving items up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omnichannel sales, and retail shrink.
• Provide a guest-friendly environment by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing service, answering questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services and learn their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
• Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share information about the guest loyalty program, credit, and Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with store managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Keep assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain cleanliness and store standards throughout the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Assist with merchandise resets, planograms, displays, physical inventory, and shipment processing using company technology and best practices.
• Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
