About The Position

The Seasonal Beauty Advisor provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying their needs, performing cashier tasks, keeping merchandise fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The role supports store leadership by contributing to sales and in-store events, guest service, and compliance with operating procedures. It calls for a passion for beauty, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. The advisor engages guests, answers product and service questions, shares promotions, recommends products and services, and supports sales through makeup applications, skincare analysis, product demonstrations, appointment booking, and in-store events. The role also includes assisting with online orders, maintaining product displays and testers, replenishing merchandise, and contributing to store operations such as resets, inventory, and shipment processing. This seasonal role requires a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work involves continuous mobility and coordination throughout the store, frequent standing and bending, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma preferred.
One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
Passion for guest service and competency in selling.
Proficiency with basic technology, such as a point-of-sale system and Apple devices.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
Greet and engage guests, determine their needs, personalize service, answer questions, share promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations for guests.
Book appointments and support services and in-store events that contribute to the guest experience and sales goals.
Stay informed about products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests as appropriate.
Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education.
Follow Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
Replenish, sign, and face the assigned work area and ensure testers are available.
Maintain cleanliness and store standards across the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, display setup, physical inventory, and shipment processing using company technology and practices.
Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
Complete other operational tasks as directed.
