BE-4 Launch Operations Engineer

Blue Origin•Space Coast, FL

About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin’s Engines business unit and the BE-4 Vehicle Integration and Flight Support team. The engineer supports a vehicle customer as they integrate and fly BE-4 engines, advising on engine integration, verifying installation, and certifying installation for flight. Leading up to launch, the role reports engine status at Mission and Flight Readiness Reviews and works with responsible engineers to write, review, and execute launch procedures. The engineer provides engineering support in launch and mission control during flight, analyzes flight data, leads engine subsystem data reviews, and communicates flight-data findings to customers, designers, and component owners for future engine upgrades. The position also leads and supports development of engine-integration specifications and flight-level ConOps, and represents the Engines group at the launch site. Outside direct launch and flight support, the engineer serves as the Engines point of contact for the vehicle customer, leads problem-solving efforts, and helps disposition non-conformances. As a subject matter expert in launch vehicle and flight operations, the engineer helps establish standards to streamline engine integration and checkout, reduce schedule impacts, and identify, communicate, and mitigate risks. The role may also lead anomaly investigations when required. The position calls for technical expertise, leadership, dedication to quality, and passion for Blue Origin’s mission and vision.
