About The Position

Under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager, the BCP CNC Technician operates CNC machines and supports Interstate Brick’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success. The position is responsible for producing high-quality parts, maintaining CNC equipment, and coordinating with production and drafting to determine which pieces can be made using CNC production. Other related duties may be assigned. This is a regular, full-time position in a plant environment. The work environment may include loud noise, moving machinery, dust, dirt, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures. Mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn. The role frequently involves using hands, reaching, talking, listening, standing, walking, and sitting; bending and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds are occasional requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with attention to detail.
Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
Ability to make reasonable decisions.
Predictable and regular attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

Further technical training in CNC operation and CAD drafting.
Familiarity with Rhino 3D and CAD software.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts.
Perform regular maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment and store equipment and materials properly.
Work between production and drafting to evaluate which pieces can be put into CNC production.
Prepare stock materials for machining.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machinery and software.
Keep records as requested by the supervisor.
Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvement.
Follow workplace safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties assigned inside and outside the assigned department.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance.
