About The Position

At Laurel Heights Hospital, we are committed to providing the highest quality of psychiatric and behavioral care. Our comprehensive pediatric programs and services are designed to bring hope and healing to children and adolescents who face complex psychiatric, behavioral and neurodevelopmental disorders. We strive to cater our approach to treatment to the needs of each child who comes into our care. Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6–17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental health programs for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Position Overview: Employment Type: PRN, Hospital Employed, onsite only Schedule / Hours: weekends, weekdays, holidays and vacation coverages Patient Volume: varies by census Location: Atlanta, GA Practice Setting: Stand-alone behavioral facility with Acute Inpatient and Residential Child/Adolescent populations ages 7-17.H&Ps, Medical Sick Call Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BC Psychiatrists, BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers and Therapists EMR / Technology: HCS

Requirements

PhD or Master’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized school of nursing
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in the State of Georgia or willingness to obtain licensure in the State of Georgia.
Board Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (PPCNP-BC)
Current National DEA Certificate

Responsibilities

Admission physicals and daily consult care with follow-ups for child and adolescent patients in our behavioral health inpatient, residential treatment facility.
Medical management of routine illnesses as well as some specialty issues.
Document care using HCS.
