About The Position

As a business development manager, you will identify new business opportunities, build client relationships, and drive revenue growth in the transportation engineering sector. You will conduct market research, develop sales strategies, prepare proposals, and network at industry events to secure new projects and clients. This role requires a blend of technical civil engineering knowledge and strong business acumen to ensure projects align with both client needs and company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum twenty-five years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and monitor competitor activities to develop effective business strategies.
  • Find and engage potential clients, build strong relationships, and understand their needs to provide tailored solutions.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations, respond to requests for proposals, and negotiate contracts to meet revenue targets.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients and partners and represent the company professionally.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure project proposals are aligned with client requirements and company capabilities.
  • Mentor and lead junior business development staff, manage schedules, and ensure the team is growing alongside the business.
  • Track key performance metrics related to leads, proposals, and revenue to report on progress and ROI.
