We are the World’s largest tool company, designing and developing tools at our Engineering headquarters in Towson, Maryland. Our design teams are involved in every step of the process, from end-user research to prototyping and creating robust tests to ensure our products withstand the toughest environments. As a Battery Technician, you will be responsible for building and testing battery packs and battery-operated power tools. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to design and test power tool battery solutions, fabricate and acquire materials for prototype battery packs, Battery Management System (BMS) electronics assemblies, and power tools. You will also work with non-standard test requirement inputs to write test procedures, design and build test fixtures paired with data acquisition, and execute tests. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis on battery packs, electronic assemblies, power tools, and test equipment will be a key part of this role. You will apply principles of electronics, electrical circuitry, and mathematics, utilize lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies, and perform thermal testing of electronic assemblies. Basic analysis and graphing of test data, documentation of new test procedures, and reporting of test plan results are also expected. Effective utilization of available resources and communication of active program status are crucial. You will handle, modify, and test lithium-ion battery packs in a controlled laboratory environment, support destructive and abusive testing, and assist with battery pack rework and assembly processes, including spot welding.
