Lead the specification and delivery of facility and infrastructure to support Ford product programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global sites. This is a building and facilities engineering position responsible for leading planning and oversight of equipment installation, design of facilities and infrastructure to support manufacturing equipment, and direct lead of support equipment launch and commissioning. The role involves working as part of a diverse team with process, safety, controls, Ford Land, and plant engineers as well as external engineering and installation contractors to successfully launch manufacturing systems. The engineer will drive, track, and report status and progress to peers and leadership, ensuring the identification and capture of lessons learned and their application to new programs. Responsibilities include leading simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers, participating in management program reviews, defining the scope of Equipment Installation, and directing the activities of installation contractors or internal trades. The role also involves coordinating PTME Process requirements with Ford Land activities, delivering new model program work, working with jurisdictions for permits and inspections, liaising with Ford Corporate Fire Protection, obtaining architectural and certified stamped drawings, coordinating structural lifting device certification, procuring installation materials, and coordinating/tracking Program Facilities Funding. On-site support, including hands-on work with equipment and suppliers, is required during launch, involving travel and on-site presence. The engineer will oversee the installation and launch of facilities equipment, ensure equipment performance specifications are met, and lead the successful transfer of equipment to plant manufacturing teams.
