About The Position

This role is responsible for the maintenance of batteries for various warehouse equipment, including forklifts, long jacks, pacers, reach trucks, order pickers, crown machines, and scrubbers. The position involves changing, watering, and washing batteries, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the battery room and equipment. The role also includes recording work using a computer, performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, and working collaboratively with the team. A flexible schedule is required, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to read computerized forms, aisles, work orders, manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain accurate records of battery changes on computer.
• Detail oriented and organized; initiative to see things that need to be done without having to be told.
• Ability to work inside the warehouse and outside in temperature extremes (-20 degrees to over 95 degrees).
• Frequent standing, squatting, reaching, bending, climbing, and walking.
• Strength to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis, able to pick up from floor level to waist level, and sometimes shoulder level.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of changing batteries and where they are located on respective machines desired.
• Prior mechanic experience helpful.
• Prior mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience with performing preventive maintenance, repair, hydraulic and electrical experience preferred and desired.

Responsibilities

• Change and water batteries on forklifts, long jacks, pacers, reach trucks, order pickers, crown machines, scrubbers, and others as necessary.
• Wash batteries on forklifts, long jacks, pacers, reach trucks, order pickers, crown machines, scrubbers, and others as necessary.
• Keep the battery room clean and organized.
• Empty waste cans.
• Keep battery changing equipment clean and well maintained.
• Use computer to record work.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Be a positive team-oriented associate and have good follow through.
• Perform other duties as required.
