About The Position

Responsible for operating a battery tester, recording system to monitor and test approximately 300- 24 volt, 36, 48 volt batteries: which includes adjusting the specific gravity of each cell prior to testing. Responsible for repairs and maintenance of 3 MTC Battery Changers. Maintain, change and service all industrial equipment batteries.

Requirements

Working knowledge and experience, preferably in both mechanized and conventional warehousing, in picking and storage operations in dry grocery and perishable areas.
Possess ability to understand and interpret computer reports
Possess good math skills and figure aptitude.
Possess good oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the telephone with outside and Company personnel.

Responsibilities

Change all batteries waiting for change. Track the time and record.
Clean batteries in the wash station.
Water batteries, take hydrometer reading and record.
Repair frayed and damaged cables.
Paint and stencil numbers on batteries.
Perform preventative maintenance and keep accurate records.
Ability to rebuild battery connectors and cables.
Ability to package and dispose of used batteries. Properly record serial numbers of new and used batteries. Keep battery inventory accurate.
Working knowledge of electrical circuits and electronics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
