About The Position

This position is responsible for performing supply operations, including the preparation and setup of raw materials and equipment. The Batchmaker will operate kettles, tanks, and supporting equipment for the production of kettle soap products, ensuring specified quantity and quality levels are met. Maintaining product quality standards through observation, sampling, and operating monitoring equipment is crucial, along with taking corrective actions as needed. The role also involves maintaining production accounting records and reports, properly packaging, counting, and documenting supplies, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP). Additional tasks may be assigned as directed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a processing environment with exposure to machinery.
  • High school education with a diploma or the ability to demonstrate knowledge consistent with that level of education.
  • Capable of normal standing activities and moderate to potentially heavy lifting; Ability to lift 50 lbs. Unassisted.
  • Exposure to mild noise (machinery) and some mild nuisance dust.
  • Climate conditions are consistent with those of a normal manufacturing environment.
  • Characteristics of soap bases and raw materials, including moisture levels, additives, and techniques for incorporating these additives into the final product.
  • Operating details of the production processing equipment.
  • Operating details of the product handling equipment.
  • General knowledge of Kettle House equipment, packaging equipment, and finished product handling equipment.
  • Understanding of quality parameters as they relate to the finished product.
  • Cooperate closely with other operators and managers.
  • Feedback is essential to good performance. Two-way communication is encouraged between the Manager and the Operator on a continuing basis.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of orderliness and cleanliness in areas of assigned work.
  • Understanding of and adherence to machine safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supply operation including preparation and setup of raw materials and equipment.
  • Operation of kettles, tanks and supporting equipment used in the production of kettle soap products at the specified quantity and quality levels.
  • Maintain product quality standards by observation, sampling and operating equipment necessary to monitor product quality. Take any necessary corrective action.
  • Maintain the necessary production accounting records and reports to include batch card, process control, quality.
  • Properly package, count and document all supplies to be returned to inventory or scrapped.
  • Comply with procedures, methods, and standards in adherence with Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP).
  • Additional tasks as directed.
