About The Position

The Batcher position is in the Formulated Department and is classified as Regular Full-time. The primary responsibility is to accurately and efficiently measure, verify lot numbers, and prepare raw ingredients for the production process, while adhering to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and service. This role involves operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, cleaning and maintaining the work area, and following Good Manufacturing Practices. The Batcher will also use MRP/ERP systems for inventory information, print documentation, and prepare batched ingredients for production. The company, Ever Fresh Fruit Company, works with customers to create unique flavor elements for ice cream bases and yogurt preps, producing for both international and local brands. They have in-house Research and Development, support regional trade organizations, source locally when appropriate, and help provide healthy food options.

Requirements

  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Average pace of batch completion.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, computer).
  • Must be able to talk/hear/sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequently required to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Accurately and efficiently measure raw ingredients.

  • Prepare raw ingredients for the production process.

  • Document batches with a comprehensive understanding of the data and its impact to the operation.
  • Operate within all standard operating procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Adhere to proper Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Use MRP/ERP for finding inventory related information.
  • Print documentation and prepare batched ingredients for production.
  • Train new Batchers on basic tasks.
