About The Position

This role involves operating batching equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner, monitoring blending equipment according to specifications, and controlling valves, pumps, speed, and temperatures in accordance with industry standards. The operator will also be responsible for adhering to testing procedures, assembling and disassembling equipment for cleaning, maintaining communication with other departments, documenting information, identifying process improvement opportunities, and reporting any food safety or quality issues. The position requires maintaining safe working conditions and compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other corporate requirements.

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
  • Valid Pasteurizers License or obtain one within 90 days

Responsibilities

  • Review all quality, food safety and product specifications
  • Monitor blending equipment according to the specifications of components and blend amounts
  • Control valves, pumps, speed, and temperatures in accordance with industry standards for blending
  • Operate batching equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner
  • Adhere to established testing procedures and provide required samples to the laboratory
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning/sanitizing and operating per manufacturer instructions
  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments
  • Engage in dismantling, assembling, and installing refrigeration equipment
  • Maintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
