About The Position

We are seeking a Batch Weigher to work on the manufacturing process of high-quality printing ink. INX makes the ink on 95% of all beer and beverage cans manufactured in the United States. We will train right candidate on the job and on TPM activities. As a Batch Weigher, you will be responsible for weighing batches as planned and assigned by the Supervisor using personal protective equipment (gloves, apron, glasses, dust mask, etc.), if required. You will follow the directions on the batch ticket and take batch tickets back to the lab for inspection when there appears to be an error. You will select the proper mixing tub for the batch (size and previous color) and make sure it is clean. You will check the raw material inventories to ensure that all ingredients for the batch are available before beginning to weigh the batch. You will notify the Supervisor of any unusual differences in raw material. If appropriate, you will check the manufacture date and check for polymerization. You will use the proper scale for weighing the raw materials. You will show all figures on the batch tickets, including lot numbers, of all raw materials and check items off as they are weighed so that steps can be retraced if necessary. When the batch has been weighed, you will sign the batch ticket, mark the tub with the full formula number, and move the finished batch to the proper area (mill or mixing room).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent math skills
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Weighing batches as planned and assigned by the Supervisor using personal protective equipment (gloves, apron, glasses, dust mask, etc.), if required
  • Following the directions on the batch ticket and taking batch tickets back to the lab for inspection when there appears to be an error
  • Selecting the proper mixing tub for the batch (size and previous color) and making sure it is clean
  • Checking the raw material inventories to ensure that all ingredients for the batch are available before beginning to weigh the batch. Notifying Supervisor of any unusual differences in raw material. If appropriate, checking the manufacture date and checking for polymerization
  • Using the proper scale for weighing the raw materials
  • Showing all figures on the batch tickets, including lot numbers, of all raw materials and checking items off as they are weighed so that steps can be retraced if necessary
  • When the batch has been weighed, signing batch ticket, marking the tub with the full formula number, and moving the finished batch to the proper area (mill or mixing room)
