About The Position
The Batchmaker is responsible for the production of all batched items for use in filling operations. This includes picking, adding, and blending raw materials, verifying quality, and tracking inventory. The role also involves cleaning and maintaining tanks and the tank area.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally in English
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of 5S Practices
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pour 50 lbs. containers of materials regularly
Responsibilities
- Picking, adding, and blending raw materials
- Verifying quality
- Tracking inventory
- Cleaning and maintaining tanks and tank area
- Obtaining a batch sheet from the laboratory supervisor
- Weighing items
- Bringing a sample of the completed batch to the laboratory for testing and approval
- Adjusting the batch as dictated by the laboratory
- Obtaining and applying a tank ticket after laboratory approval
- Labeling and filling of tote/drum/pail quantity products
- Changing line and raw material filters
- Operating and maintaining the sodium hypochlorite reclaim system
- Immediately reporting any safety/maintenance/equipment issues to the quality manager
