About The Position

The Batch Copper Coat Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring copper coating equipment, preparing materials, maintaining bath concentrations, inspecting product quality, documenting production activity, and following all safety and housekeeping requirements. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions accurately.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assist team members as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently push, pull, and reach.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Predictable and consistent attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • 1-2 years in industrial machinery

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and mix coating materials according to work instructions.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain copper coating equipment and related machinery.
  • Perform routine checks of bath concentrations, document results, and make bath adjustments as needed.
  • Read work orders and bills of materials to determine product specifications.
  • Inspect materials and finished products during processing to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Cut samples for quality control as required.
  • Record production activity, downtime, and required documentation; submit completed work orders to the supervisor.
  • Report machinery or process issues to the supervisor or maintenance department.
  • Use forklifts, cranes, hand carts, and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials safely.
  • Meet production quantity and quality expectations while maintaining efficiency standards.
  • Train new operators as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor wire quality and respond appropriately to nonconforming product.
  • Review SDS information and become familiar with chemicals used in the department.
  • Request initiation of an internal corrective action when needed.
  • Place material on hold or stop production when nonconforming wire is identified.
  • Focus on machines and processes that require constant attention.
  • Work in varying temperature conditions, dusty environments, and confined spaces as required.
