About The Position

Officiate assigned school basketball matches in a safe, fair, and professional manner while applying applicable volleyball rules consistently and promoting sportsmanship and a positive environment for students, coaches, staff, and spectators.

Requirements

Working knowledge of official basketball rules and officiating procedures.
Consistent attendance, punctuality, reliability, and impartiality.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, coaches, staff, and spectators.
Ability to remain calm and make timely, fair, and impartial decisions in a competitive environment.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Previous basketball referee or officiating experience required.
Must pass Live Scan, a criminal background check completed through fingerprinting.
Provide documentation of satisfactory tuberculosis clearance as required.
Reliable transportation is required to meet the needs of the position.
Rules and procedures applicable to assigned basketball matches.
Basic safety practices for school athletic environments.
Understand and apply applicable rules and procedures.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Remain professional and impartial during basketball matches.
Perform the essential functions of the position.
Must be available for assigned match schedules.

Responsibilities

Officiate assigned basketball matches and enforce official basketball rules.
Make fair and consistent calls throughout each match.
Communicate decisions clearly and professionally with students, coaches, staff, and spectators.
Promote sportsmanship and safe, respectful conduct during matches.
Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled assignments.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
