About The Position

BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic After-School Basketball or Soccer Coaches to lead fun and engaging sports programs for elementary-aged students in Adelphi, MD. This is a part-time, after-school position, Monday through Friday, with 1.5-hour sessions. The role involves leading one of the following programs: Basketball or Soccer. Experience in both sports is a plus, but candidates only need to be qualified and comfortable coaching one. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by helping children develop athletic skills, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Requirements

• Comfortable working with students in grades K–5
• Reliable transportation to schools throughout Adelphi
• Dependable and punctual
• Positive and energetic attitude
• Must successfully complete the required Prince George's County Public Schools background check and fingerprinting process

Nice To Haves

• Basketball or soccer playing/coaching experience
• Experience working with children
• Experience in both basketball and soccer

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging basketball or soccer sessions for elementary students
• Teach age-appropriate fundamentals and skills
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior
• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and activities
• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Supervise groups of approximately 15–25 students
• Encourage participation, confidence, and skill development
• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership
