Youth Sports - Basketball Official
About The Position
Youth Sports Officials help provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for young people to learn and develop sports skills, with a focus on safety, physical activity, and social growth. The role may suit high school students seeking extra spending money, college students interested in sports management or working with youth, people supplementing full-time income, or those returning to work while staying active and engaged with youth in their community. Training is provided for new officials before they contract with the YMCA. This is a contract-based position: Sports Officials are not employees and operate as independent contractors.
Responsibilities
- Objectively and competently officiate the assigned sport.
- Professionally and positively guide spectators', coaches', and participants' physical and verbal behavior.
