About The Position

The Basic Machine Operator role involves setting up, programming, and operating various basic machinery such as Mechanical Shear, Corner Notcher, Punch Press, Iron Worker, and Spot Welders. While the operator may use Advanced Machines, programming them is not part of this role. Key responsibilities include performing minor equipment maintenance, determining the routing of completed parts, and maintaining inventory. Adherence to all safety rules, policies, and procedures, along with immediate reporting of accidents/injuries to the department supervisor, is mandatory. The position also requires prompt and regular attendance. Additional duties include maintaining a clean and orderly work area, performing quality checks on produced parts, and potentially operating a fork truck. Requirements

Use and understand measuring instruments to check for quality
Must have good math skills.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
A high school diploma or GED is required

Nice To Haves

Licensed fork truck operator preferred

Responsibilities

Setup, program, and operate basic machinery including but not limited to Mechanical Shear, Corner Notcher, Punch Press, Iron Worker, Spot Welders, etc.
May operate Advanced Machine but will not program
Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Determine routing of completed parts.
Maintain inventory of parts used in area.
Follow all safety rules, policies and procedures.
Report all accidents/injuries to department supervisor immediately.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Keep work area clean, neat and orderly.
Perform quality checks on parts produced.
May be required to use fork truck
