This is a PRN Position. The Basic EMT-PRN renders basic life support procedures to patients in a variety of settings consistent with state and local operating protocols. The role requires the ability to work a variety of shift lengths, including 12-48 hour shifts, on-call shifts, and standby/special events of varying hours. The position involves assisting in extricating trapped victims, transporting sick and injured persons to appropriate health care facilities, and using good judgment in high-stress situations. Key responsibilities include performing airway interventions, vital signs, blood glucose measurement, patient-specific treatments, monitoring, and interventions such as CPR and defibrillation. The role also involves observing and recording patient conditions, directing patient care with other agency personnel, and driving ambulances safely. Accurate and timely completion of patient care records and daily assigned chores is essential. The position requires performing all duties in a safe, courteous, confidential, and professional manner, mentoring fellow staff, and maintaining response readiness.
