Requirements

High School graduate or GED.
Two to four years of experience.
Driver or dispatch experience.
Knowledge in transporting frail or elderly population with special mobility needs and safety requirements.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants and family members, co-workers.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Computer literate and ability to generate accurate records.
Ability to speak clearly and to articulate details, instructions, dispatch procedures, emergency requirements, procedures and policies.
Ability to problem solve and prioritize duties.
Ability to remain calm and responsive in an emergency.

Nice To Haves

EMT or Dispatcher license/certification preferred.
Experience working with transportation software scheduling programs preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs dispatching activities related to the Transportation Call Center Department.
Coordinates transportation scheduling.
Maintains scheduling, and communication with Transport Companies.
Communicates with the transportation coordinator, nursing supervisor, and other personnel as needed.
Facilitates transportation to and from all Virtua facilities and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team to ensure an orderly transfer of patient from other facilities to Virtua hospitals.
