About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Building Automation Service Technician to support customers in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. This field-based role is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, and commissioning building automation systems across commercial and institutional facilities. The successful candidate will work independently, build strong customer relationships, identify practical system improvement opportunities, and help ensure BAS systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Experience servicing, troubleshooting, or commissioning building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related low-voltage control systems.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Lethbridge and the surrounding area.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant education or trade background in electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, mechanical systems, or building automation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Delta Controls, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or other BAS platforms is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of BAS communication protocols such as BACnet MS/TP, BACneEthernet/IP is considered an asset.
  • Networking knowledge, including IP addressing and basic network troubleshooting, is considered an asset.
  • Controls programming, graphics development, and system integration experience is considered an asset.
  • Energy management, building optimization, or recommissioning experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer demand service requests throughout Lethbridge and the surrounding area.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and optimize BAS control systems, controllers, field devices, and related components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on BAS control systems in accordance with maintenance agreements and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot BAS communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and Modbus.
  • Commission and recommission BAS control systems, including point-to-point checkout, sequence verification, graphics review, and functional testing.
  • Create, modify, and maintain BAS graphical interfaces and system databases.
  • Execute small installation, retrofit, and upgrade projects as required.
  • Document service work, deficiencies, recommendations, and completed repairs clearly and professionally.
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing technical guidance, site recommendations, and practical building improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for repairs, upgrades, energy improvements, and additional services.
  • Provide technical support to construction, project, and sales teams as required.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a professional standard of workmanship.
