About The Position

We are seeking a versatile BAS & Mechanical Wiring Estimator / Coordinator to support estimating, coordination, and project execution activities across mechanical, electrical, and building automation projects. This role blends technical estimating responsibilities with project coordination to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering program or Construction Technology program with related work experience OR
  • Qualified tradesperson in Electrical/ BAS field with several years’ experience, and previous estimating experience
  • Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Automation background preferred.
  • 3–10 years estimating or coordination experience in BAS, mechanical wiring, or electrical contracting.
  • Strong understanding of BAS fundamentals, mechanical wiring, HVAC systems, and network cabling.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong organization, communication, and multitasking ability.
  • Proficient with MS Office; experience with estimating software is an asset.
  • Project coordination or project management experience beneficial.
  • Advanced user of: MS applications (Word, Excel, and Projects).
  • Advanced user of: Autobid Mechanical (QuickPen)
  • Advanced user of: Accubid Change Order Pro

Nice To Haves

  • Trade background (Electrician/Controls Technician) considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for BAS, mechanical wiring, and low-voltage systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams.
  • Assist with project scheduling, material procurement, and documentation control.
  • Support site teams with coordination drawings, RFIs, and change order preparation.
  • Maintain cost databases, supplier lists, and tender documentation.
  • Attend site visits, tender reviews, and project handoff meetings.
  • Ensure estimates reflect current industry standards, technologies, and construction methods.
