About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and technically capable Building Automation Systems Coordinator & Data Analyst to work directly with the Building Automation Manager. This position serves as a technical extension of management, responsible for gathering information, generating reports, organizing data, maintaining databases, and supporting remote monitoring and alarm systems based on management direction. The ideal candidate does not need to independently determine what data should be collected or analyzed but must be capable of following detailed instructions, navigating Building Automation Systems, extracting requested information, and presenting data in a clear and professional format. A working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and electrical fundamentals is highly preferred so technical instructions can be understood without extensive explanation.

Requirements

  • Experience working with computers, databases, reporting tools, or technical systems.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to learn Building Automation Systems and navigate system graphics and trends.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (Niagara, Metasys, Siemens, Schneider, ALC, Honeywell, etc.).
  • Basic HVAC, controls, or electrical knowledge.
  • Experience working with databases and reporting platforms.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, AI tools, OCR software, or automation software.
  • Understanding of BAS alarms, trends, and control system terminology.
  • Experience supporting facility operations or engineering departments.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with management to support Building Automation System initiatives.
  • Follow instructions to gather, organize, and present operational and system data.
  • Track assignments, projects, reports, and system documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining department records and technical documentation.
  • Serve as a central resource for organizing and retrieving building automation information.
  • Access Building Automation Systems and locate requested information.
  • Capture screenshots, trends, graphics, alarms, and equipment data as directed.
  • Organize BAS information into structured folders, databases, and repositories.
  • Maintain searchable records for easy retrieval by management and subject matter experts.
  • Catalog historical data, alarm information, equipment performance records, and system documents.
  • Utilize AI and software tools to extract data from screenshots and BAS graphics.
  • Convert collected information into tables, charts, summaries, and reports.
  • Prepare recurring reports based on established templates and management direction.
  • Update dashboards and reporting tools with current information.
  • Ensure data is presented clearly and accurately for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of remote alarm notification systems.
  • Support DNS, network communications, and remote monitoring functions.
  • Maintain databases containing BAS data, alarm histories, trends, and equipment information.
  • Verify data integrity and ensure information is properly organized and backed up.
  • Support troubleshooting of connectivity and reporting issues.
  • Communicate with controls contractors, facility personnel, vendors, and SMEs when necessary.
  • Gather technical information requested by management.
  • Assist with preparing system reviews, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Support special projects involving building automation analytics, reporting, and data management.
