About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Under direction, participates in the mixing and sale of drinks for specified clubhouse events that follow generally prescribed or established procedures; performs related work as required. Work involves regular contact with other divisions, departments, residents, vendors and the public. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible to be on duty well in advance of guest arrival time, with all necessary supplies set up to run the bar. Mixes drinks as guest gives a drink ticket which was purchased from Bar Cashier. When working bar events requiring only a Bartender, will balance cash register and submit paperwork to Recreation Accounts Coordinator as soon as possible after the party. Drives a vehicle to meetings, workshops and other job related responsibilities. Regular Attendance Required. All duties performed on-site for the Community. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists in closing bar, usually at mealtime, inventory is taken to check in supplies, the balance is loaded and returned to the liquor locker.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and work experience as a bartender or equivalent combination of education and experience which produces the following:
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
  • Knowledge of State liquor control laws.
  • Knowledge of ingredients and proper proportions of popular mixed drinks.
  • Knowledge of division and department rules, procedures and functions.
  • Ability to relate to the needs and concerns of senior citizens.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the public and to deal with public relations problems courteously and tactfully.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see, and use hands to finger, grasp, feel, reach, and frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for periods of time (up to 4 hours and repetitive motion for periods of up to 2 hours).
  • The employee is occasionally required to kneel, pull, push, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee reads, solves problems, uses his verbal and written communication skills, and has frequent customer contact.
