About The Position

Peacock, a wine bar in Halifax's Queen’s Marque district, is seeking a Bartender. The bar offers a curated selection of over 90 wines, including small-production and hard-to-find bottles, alongside an extensive by-the-glass menu. They also serve seasonal, tapas-style plates made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is described as intimate and cozy, with a lush green dining room and a bar area featuring deep gem tones and gold accents. The role involves creating a positive guest experience, suggesting food and beverages, preparing drinks, communicating menu details, and managing bar inventory.

Requirements

A valid Serve Right Certification
Moderate wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge
Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service
Excellent observation skills & high attention to detail, offering a helping hand to all guests whenever needed, before they even need to ask
Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

Creating a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
Providing guest with food & beverage suggestions, while taking in consideration preferences, allergies, and dietary restrictions
Promptly receive drink order chits and prepare beverages
Communicating beverage descriptions, special and information to guests and team members
Stocking and maintaining all bar products including mise en place
Checking and maintaining beer keg and liquor levels
Counting and taking inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory ordering
Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time
