Burdick's Bartender is responsible for creating consistency amongst bar processes, maintaining bar purchasing, establishing relationships with purveyors, monitoring product cost, creating inventory forms, delegating inventory tasks, entering and submitting ending inventory to the Finance & Management Team, participating with marketing strategies in building bar revenue & business, participating in the creative process for food & cocktail menus, overseeing bar & lounge cleaning and cosmetic needs, creating & establishing cleaning processes & procedures, and advocating & participating in effective communication amongst the bar team. The role requires the ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, possess strong interpersonal skills with a focused attention to guest needs, and have an advanced understanding of food and beverage products including wine and spirits knowledge. The bartender must understand and implement cash handling procedures, organize and consolidate steps of service for maximum productivity, and work well with others towards common goals. They need to understand guest's service needs, have the physical ability to access all areas of the property, and possess strong communication skills. The role involves effectively and correctly handling all cash and bar ticket transactions, differentiating between types of bars (cash, host, open) and taking requisitions correctly. The bartender must take direction, learn, and utilize information for the benefit of the department and its guests, be productive and proactive in providing personalized guest experiences, and adapt to the volume of business. They are empowered and responsible to maintain their individual bar during any given shift, including proper set-up, maintenance, and tear-down/restocking procedures. Completing side work necessary per shift is also required. TIPS certification is required, and the bartender must follow TIPS training procedures when serving alcohol. They should be knowledgeable of other outlets of the hotel for cross-selling purposes, responsible for continued training in product knowledge and service standards, and resolve all guest opportunities in an efficient manner. Checking on guest tables to ensure quality delivery is essential, as is ensuring productivity and providing personalized guest experiences.
