The Bartender will be responsible for greeting, directing, seating, and taking food and beverage orders. They will serve guests in accordance with company standards, adhering to all beverage pour and recipe standards. This role requires knowledge of all food, wine, beer, alcohol, and specialty cocktails, with a conscious understanding of wine pairings and the ability to make suggestions. The Bartender must utilize suggestive selling methods to drive revenue growth, communicate daily specials and specialty menus, and practice safe serving practices related to alcohol service, including recognizing intoxication and refusing service when necessary. They will consult with the Restaurant Manager for support, be perceptive, proactive, and engaging, anticipate guest needs, and personalize the guest experience. Responsibilities also include completing pre-shift preparation (garnishes, pre-mix, ice), creating syrups and in-house infusions, completing side work and closing tasks (cleaning, sanitation, restocking), operating efficiently during peak times, seeking assistance when needed, properly opening and closing beer taps, polishing glassware, recording breakage, maintaining bathroom spaces, removing trash, restocking service stations and bar areas, making coffee, tea, and espressos, preparing and presenting bills, processing payments, reconciling cash, charging credit cards, making deposits, and checking out with the manager. The role also involves practicing cleanliness and safety in all areas, professionally handling guest complaints, solving problems, and escalating unresolved issues to management. Teamwork is essential, including assisting team members, practicing conscious knowledge of food allergies and safety, communicating allergy concerns, and escalating associate concerns to the Restaurant Manager. Demonstrating a team-focused attitude, encouraging collaboration, and understanding safe work practices for all safety precautions (Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures) are also key. Attending meetings and training sessions and complying with all policies outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued, including time and attendance, uniform and dress code, anti-harassment, and substances in the workplace, are required.
