About The Position

Join the team at one of Portland’s most iconic hospitality destinations! Located in the heart of the Old Port District, The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is a beautiful Historic Hotel of America offering exceptional guest experiences, a welcoming atmosphere, and a supportive team environment. We are currently seeking a Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team in a year-round role. This position is not eligible for J1 or H2B employment sponsorship.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
1 year of related experience or equivalent hospitality experience
Basic math and cash handling skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
TIPS Certification required (or ability to obtain)

Nice To Haves

Previous bartending or serving experience preferred
Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused personality
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
Professional communication and strong teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during guest interactions

Responsibilities

Greet and serve guests with professionalism and hospitality
Prepare and serve cocktails and beverages consistently and accurately
Maintain knowledge of drink recipes, menu items, promotions, and gift certificates
Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in accordance with Maine liquor laws
Handle cash, credit card, and room charge transactions accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, lounge, and workstations
Assist guests with questions, concerns, and special requests
Complete side work, stocking, and cleaning duties
Support team members and assist with training when needed
Become proficient with the POS system and hotel procedures
