About The Position

The Bartender will uphold the Fairmont Breakers values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities. This role requires adherence to company policy and procedures, consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service, and exceeding guest expectations. The Bartender will be responsible for extensive knowledge of food, liquor, beer, wine, and cocktails, preparing basic beverages and cocktails, interacting with guests in a way that makes them feel special, and providing proper and friendly service. Compliance with liquor laws, maintaining personal and financial accountability, controlling bar costs, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar prep area and bar are also key responsibilities. The role involves controlling cost and waste, closing out paperwork thoroughly, and maintaining extensive knowledge of the menu and food preparation techniques. The Bartender will be proactive by assisting co-workers, supporting and assisting Managers, and being proficient with all aspects and services of the property. Familiarity with all food outlets and amenities within the property, as well as general city information and hotel history, is expected. The Bartender will act as an ambassador for the department, the property, and the brand, maintaining regular and predictable attendance, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience required preferably in upscale setting
  • Previous bartender experience required
  • Previous point of sale system experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a small team and independently
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays

  • Be pro-active by assisting co-workers
  • Support and assist Managers
  • Be proficient with all aspects and services of the property
