About The Position

Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of OTB bars. Takes orders from customers or Server. Inventories supplies at beginning and end of shift. Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serves wine and draught or bottled beer. Collects money for drinks served. Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies. Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display. Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks. Prepares all daily paperwork at the end of the shift. Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts. Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces. Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a beverage permit.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk.
  • Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
