About The Position

The Daily Catch is seeking skilled Bartenders to help set the tone for their first West Coast bar. The ideal candidate is confident, warm, and knowledgeable — someone who understands how to create welcoming hospitality while maintaining high-volume efficiency and bar professionalism. As a Bartender, you will be the storyteller and guide to their Sicilian seafood–driven menu, offering pairing suggestions, crafting drinks with precision, and engaging guests with genuine hospitality. The Daily Catch, founded in 1973 in Boston’s North End, is a family-owned Sicilian-style seafood and pasta restaurant known for fresh, local New England seafood and authentic East Coast flavor. With three Boston restaurants and a wholesale seafood business, they are proud to bring their heritage to the West Coast with The Daily Catch Pasadena, opening Spring 2026. Their bar program will reflect their family and culinary style - simple, bold, and rooted in tradition - featuring Italian wines, classic cocktails, amaro’s, and thoughtful coastal spirits.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years bartending in a high-volume restaurant or bar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and classic cocktail technique.
  • Ability to balance speed, attention to detail, and relaxed guest interaction.
  • Confident communicator with strong guest engagement skills.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexible availability - evenings, weekends, holidays required.
  • Must be 21+ and certified in responsible alcohol service (TIPS, LEAD, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages with accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of wine, spirits, classic cocktails, and Daily Catch menu offerings.
  • Provide genuine, warm, and conversational hospitality at the bar and to service staff.
  • Assist with menu guidance, making recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service standards and monitor guest intake.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service.
  • Handle POS transactions and orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform opening, closing, and side-work duties as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with FOH + BOH teams to ensure seamless service flow.
