Requirements

  • Craft Cocktail Knowledge is a must.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Remain professional at all times, and that you treat all guests and associates with courtesy and respect, under all circumstances.
  • Work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely and manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the lounge.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis.
  • Requisition and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
  • Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
  • Lock up and store all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
  • Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to service manual.
  • Do all necessary set upside work as assigned.
  • Answer any guest questions about the menu.
  • Quickly clear dirty patio table settings and prepare table for resetting.
  • Transport all dirty tableware from outside dining tables to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
  • Promptly and consistently reset all serviceware as prescribed.
  • Serve guests with beverages to begin their patio dining experience and replenish as necessary.
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments.
  • Operate the electronic cash register/P.O.S. system (where applicable).
  • Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

  • Adapt to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.
