About The Position

The Skybar Bartender is responsible for delivering an elevated and memorable Food & Beverage experience at Skybar — Muskoka’s first luxury, world-class, rooftop restaurant, pool, and patio destination. This role combines exceptional table service with premium bar service, ensuring every guest receives attentive, sophisticated, and personalized hospitality. The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, service-focused, and passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences in a high-end hospitality environment. The Skybar Bartender works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team and fellow team members to uphold Muskoka Bay Resort’s luxury standards while contributing to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending and serving experience required.
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Computer literate with experience using P.O.S. systems.
  • Ability to frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Professional appearance and polished service standards.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Food & Beverage experience in a luxury resort, upscale restaurant, or hospitality environment of similar caliber preferred.
  • Experience with resort or restaurant systems considered an asset.
  • Wine, cocktail, or mixology knowledge are considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional Food & Beverage service to all members and guests in the restaurant, rooftop patio, pool, and lounge areas.
  • Deliver full bar service including preparation and service of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Smart Serve standards and resort recipes.
  • Create a luxury guest experience through attentive, engaging, and personalized service.
  • Monitor guest dining experiences to ensure expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menus, features, wine selections, cocktails, and service standards.
  • Recognize and accommodate guest preferences, special requests, and dietary requirements with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and notify leadership of any signs of guest intoxication.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all service and bar areas at all times.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side duties including restocking, polishing glassware and silverware, patio and pool setup, and maintaining service stations.
  • Provide assistance with banquet and special event setup, service, and breakdown as required.
  • Work collaboratively with culinary, leadership, and fellow service team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively to ensure guest satisfaction and service recovery when necessary.
  • Ensure all health, safety, sanitation, and resort policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Contribute to a positive, energetic, and team-oriented atmosphere reflective of the Skybar and Muskoka Bay Resort brand standards.
