About The Position

The Albert at Hotel EMC2 is seeking an experienced, personable, and service-driven Full-Time Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. The Bartender is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience through professional, attentive service and the preparation and presentation of high-quality beverages. This position requires strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, responsible alcohol service, and proper bar procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and consistently maintain the service and presentation standards expected within a Marriott Autograph Collection property.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel, lounge, or high-volume hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Ability to learn and consistently execute The Albert's beverage recipes and service standards.
  • Excellent guest-service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and electronic payment transactions.
  • Must meet all applicable legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Food Handler and/or responsible alcohol service certification may be required based on applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, friendly, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and other menu offerings according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredients, spirits, wine selections, beer offerings, and current promotions.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations and answer guest questions regarding beverage selections.
  • Verify identification and follow all applicable laws and company policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible alcohol service at all times.
  • Accurately enter guest orders into the POS system and properly process cash, credit card, room-charge, and other approved transactions.
  • Maintain proper cash-handling procedures and accurately complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Prepare and maintain the bar before, during, and after service, including stocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and visually appealing bar and service area throughout the shift.
  • Follow established recipes, portion-control standards, and beverage presentation guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product or supply needs to management.
  • Assist with inventory counts and proper storage and rotation of beverage products as assigned.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, culinary team members, barbacks, management, and other Food & Beverage employees to ensure efficient service.
  • Communicate guest concerns, service issues, or unusual circumstances to management promptly.
  • Respond professionally to guest requests and assist in resolving concerns within the scope of the position.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with established uniform and grooming standards.
  • Complete assigned side work, opening duties, closing duties, and cleaning responsibilities.
  • Support restaurant events, private dining, banquets, special promotions, and other Food & Beverage operations as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with guests, employees, and hotel leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.
